This is the second time I've had this happen - I think it's a glitch in the forum. I post a link - then the post comes up after I click post - and the link doesn't show up at all and the whole page is screwy - there's a bunch of table outlines on the left side, and the entire link and words don't show in the post. Then I click edit post, and just click the edit message again - and then sony plops their link on the front of the URL. GRRRRR
Well, In all actuality - I was talking to Ray in the chat and he gave me the link - I just decided that it was a good article and needed to be shared. - I'm sure that he didn't want to toot his own horn - I was asking him about how he started etc... and he posted the link to me. I had to post it here when I was done.
I'm pretty impressed with what Muttley has done, and when you toss in there that he's only been doing vid for 3 years or so.....WOW! What an inspiration.
So good to hear of others success AND in such short order too! - BUT, the arts training was always there in the background. Said it before, I'll say it again . . . Any/some formal, or even informal, attendance on an arts course will go a long way not only in the "way" we look and appreciate form, shape, framing, colour etc it will ALSO assist in the actual way we manage, plan, execute and finally assess our own work. . . . AND finally, finally, creativity HAS to be at the centre of all this.
Once again, thanks all. Honestly I am humbled by the awards, everyone's comments, and the article itself.
If you look through my history of posting here on the forum you'll see that I have asked a lot more questions than I have given answers and trust me when I say that's not by design. I simply need to know more than I know and am forever grateful to have these forums and you folks to learn from. You have helped me more than you will ever know.
And of course thanks a million for the article Spot, your far to kind and far to flattering. I can't tell you how much this article has meant to me. Without wanting to sound overly dramatic I can tell you that since I started on this journey I've had my fair share of setbacks and financial challenges and consequently questioned whether I was doing the right thing by pushing on. While I can safely say that giving up was never an option, my self esteem reached all time lows and I've had lengthy periods that some might call depression. Though a couple awards and some praise from my peers ( more accurately my mentors ) hasn't solved all of my problems, it has done wonders to revitalize my commitment to my work and to lift my spirits enough to face the challenges ahead with optimism and hope.
I see lots of good things coming your way Muttley. One thing you can't get from user manuals and forums and that vision and man I believe you got it. Awesome job.
