I know why and how it happens but here's something strange that doesn't seem related to my timeline/footage:
When you render and have ANY setting for ram preview it automatically adds a ton of RAM to the vegas process. I can have RAM preview set to 1mb, 1024mb, anywhere in between, it always jumps my RAM usage in the processes to the point where it says Vegas is out of memory. Not all the time, only when the stuff on the TL already uses a lot of RAM. With my current project my RAM usage is ~650mb so I have to disable the RAM preview.
10e, 32-bit, XP Pro.
Anyone else able to duplicate this? I'd assume the RAM preview uses memory but not automatically add usage when you hit render. If it did I'd assume it would be the amount you specified in the RAM preview options, but it seems unrelated.
