Out of Order Scene Selection

I noticed on my auto-generated scene selection that when I scroll through the menu on an external DVD player, the "next" button is not always the next button.

For example, pressing the [down arrow] button on my DVD remote will scroll through the scene selection menu in this order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 5, [back]. The "Object Order" tags in the design interface are in the proper order, but somehow the burned DVD looses that order.

Anybody else notice anything weird like this?

I kind of wish there was a way to manually edit/tweak the button and menu code's values.

Also, am I correct is saying that it is impossible to re-associate a button/link with it's destination once it has been created?

What do you mean by this?

Will this do what you are asking? Double-click the link you want "reassociated", on the right panel will be two text boxes, one for video and one for audio. Drag the desired file(s) up to those boxes and then set any in/out points on the timeline.

Yep,

Got the same problem, specially when you put the back, firts menu or next bottom on the side, instead of at the bottom of the screen.

A command to force the order of the buttons would be a most welcome feature.

Did you try Options - Show Object Order? You can also change the order numbers backwards or forwards for any object. Does this make a difference for you?

The object order has nothing to do with navigation. It determines what order the objects are composited in (i.e. which objects are on top of which objects). It also determines the first highlight item when the menu is first displayed. (The first link in object order is the first highlight item.)

The navigation is determined automatically by DVD-A based on the relative position of links in the menu.

I just did a layout with 6 boxes (3 wide, 2 high) linked to different clips and when I pushed the 1,2,3,4,5,6 number buttons on the remote here is the way it came out:

1 3 4

2 6 5

Hope that makes sense. In other words there was no numerical pattern to the navigation. When I used the arrow buttons on the remote, they worked fine though.

Also, the remote number buttons should be based on the object order. The link with the lowest number should map to number 1 on the remote, the link with the second lowest number should map to number 2 on the remote, etc.

1. Edit | Editing Tool | Selection Tool
2. Select an Object in the Menu
3. Edit | Object Order and choose Move To Top, Move To Bottom, Move Forward or Move Back
