Output Format problem

I capture clips with a PAL VCD format. 352x288 ppi and 25fps in my capture program.

Then I drag'em into Vegas Video 2.0b and in the preview Project window the clip has this letterbox thing but on the sides, not as widesceen film would have.

The preview project size is the same as the project size which I set to 352x288.

And when I render I use the same output fomrat at the project size...

On the AVI that I render I get that letterbox thing going on anyway... what's the problem? Is there one more place I need to set the format to 352x288???

please help me!

I'm sorry to say that I can't help you, but what I CAN do is tell you what everyone else is going to tell you: Upgrade to 2.0g. It probably won't fix anything, but that seems to be the favorite answer from everyone on this board.

Not sure if it's the same, but when I edit DV Widescreen footage I have to set my preview window to display square pixels. Right-click on the preview window and select "square pixels".

does that work? Also, make sure the Media Properties for the footage is correct. Go to the Media Pool and check out the attributes of the footage. Sometimes it doesn't get interpreted properly. You can also right-click on the video track in the timeline and select Properties and look at the pixel aspect ration, size, etc.

hope that helps.

I fixed it... I just rightcklicked on the clip. Went to the Pan/Crop thing.. and unmaked the Maintain Ratio... sounds illogical but actually it fixed the whole thing.
