Hello! I thought it was time to dust off my racks of MiniDV tapes and do some work on them (I have Vegas Pro 8.1). It's been a while!

Very simple. I've captured a couple tapes, and dropped the clips into the timeline. Added some basic text media at several locations, and then go to render it (DVD-A video stream, default settings).

The preview window goes black at some point, and may come back, or it may not. Thing is, I cancel the render and restart it, and it goes black at different spots (not consistent).

I let it go on one run where it was black the entire time, and ended up with a black video with full audio.

Everything plays fine in the timeline.

I've done some searching on this issue and have found several reports of similar problems, but have not stumbled on any solution.
