Output to Flash

I recently purchased Vegas MS and noticed that there is no option to output to Flash. I was previously using Nova's Video Explosion, virtually the same program and it had the option to output your movie in Flash format. Anyone have any info on this and why it's not included in Vegas MS?

Also, when I attempt to import a Flash file, it appears black in the timeline and in the media pool is looks transparent, checkerboard background. Any help is appriciated.

MovieStudio can work with and export SWF files but not Flash, that I'm aware of.

Thanks for the information. Ok SWF would be Shockwave then I'm assuming. Can you tell me how to output and work with that format. I can't find anywhere in the export to do that, thanks.

It should be one of your options when you Make Movie and then select Save to Disk/Hard Drive.

Unfortunately I don't see that option in the drop down menu, or anywhere else. I ebven checked the instruction manual and no mention of output to swf, this is very strange.

I can point out one very annoying (to me) limitation of exporting to SWF... the template Sony uses will force the SWF file NOT to loop... something many, many flash files do. In fact, looping is macromedia's default, so it appears someone at Sony made a decision to prevent looping. This was really frustrating to me since any web page author can prevent looping if they wanted to, but cannot enable it if the file was written with the instruction that prevents looping.

As to why you do not see it as an option, I am at a loss on that one. In my version, when you select "make movie", then, "save it to your hard drive", the second to last choice under "format" is "wildform flash video".

I never had any previous versions of Screenblast, that must be the reason I cannot export to SWF. I called Sony and they confirmed that there is no export for SWF, only import. Somethings not right about this whole situation.

You are absolutely correct - I just received the new version 4 (now with the Vegas badge), but had not installed it until tonight. It does not have the wildform flash output option. Interesting choice by Sony. Wonder if there is a utility out in the public domain that will convert some other format to flash. Like I mentioned in my first message, the hard coding that prevented looping removed a huge percentage of the value of a flash export for my personal tastes.
