Outputting of Slide show video...

Thanks to some great responses on here I was able to create the slide show video for my son's soccer team. Now...I would like to out put this less than 7 minute video to svcd, dvd and to the web. When I tried outputting to the an svcd via vegas 3, the output was poor quality I was told. Is there a better process to get better output? Or is video still the best medium?

What about the web...any tips? I would love to share wit with you all...it came out nice I thought as did the parents! :-)

The quality of the SVCD is based mostly on the bitrate used. A higher bitrate produces much better quality, but takes up more space on the disc. Since your video is only 7 minutes, that shouldn't be a problem. You can probably encode in the 2 to 3Mbps range and get very acceptable results.

For publishing on the web, you'll want a much more compressed file. Often people use 256Kbps WindowsMedia. You can see many examples at http://www.vegasusers.com/vidshare/ ... 256K produces viewable results, but they'll be a little blocky and distorted. Some of the videos there use 512K or even 1048K. These rates produce better results, but make the file proportionately larger. Good quality doesn't help if your audience doesn't want to spend hours downloading a humongous file.

I appreciate the response and I am already rendering as recommended, 256k winmedia...i hope to upload it on your site for comments/critiques...thank you!

but for the svcd...i used the feature on vegas 3 to burn a video cd and don't see the option to set bitrate. Am i missing something?
