outside capture tool?

Just moved to movie studio from studio 9... I see that movie studio doesn't have scene detection (except for the dv connection way)...

I think this is a must and hope they can get it in an update or next version,

Q. is there a known outside tool that will detect scenes and split a large clip before importing into movie studio?

but that program only works with a av recorder device (video recorder), i need one that takes a already captured avi file and splits that on scene detections.

Scenalyzer has a freeware tool that does exactly that. Go to the downloads page and click the "old freeware scenalyzer" link. It does optical and DV timestamp detection.
