Overlay Tracks in V12 not working

Partnerunning wrote on 6/14/2013, 6:05 AM
My tga and psd files that work brilliantly in version 10 do not work when loaded into an original/new project in version 12 - the lower tracks - do not show through and all I get is the tga or psd overlay!

If I create a project in v10 and load it in v12 it works fine with both psd and tga files.

What am I missing?

Thanks for the assistance.

Can you be a little more specific about what you're doing and what you're seeing?

Are you saying that you're overlaying a photo with a PSD, expecting the transparent areas of the PSD to be transparent?

When I put text on the top line and a psd file on the second line I get text on a black screen.

When I put text on the top line, tga file on second line and video on the third line I get text on video but the tga file, which should show at the bottom of the screen does not appear.

The text and files flcker in and out when played and made into a movie file.

Thanks for any help.

Sorry. I'm having trouble visualizing this.

If you can post a screen capture someone and a link to it on this forum, maybe it will be clearer when I can actually see it.

Thanks for the illustrations.

I don't see anything obvious. Have you got the track headers configured in any way other than the default?

Also, it appears that your graphic in the first illustration (the one that's not showing up in the Preview panel) might have its Opacity dragged down to zero, which would certainly render it invisible.

But I can't see enough detail to say for sure. Do you know how to tell?

Does this happen in each new project? So, add the key elements to a new project in Movie Studio 12?

Thanks Steve - opacity is 100%. and no changes to track headers.

I powered everything off and when I reloaded the project file worked fine and I was able to create a movie ok.

I then saved it as another project - changed the text and before I even imported another section of video the problem started again.

Version 10 is working fine.

Thanks Mark

It does not seem to matter if it is a new project created in v 12 or a v 10 project edited in 12.

Why does it show 'media offline'? It would help to see the far left of the tracks to see if you have the compositing mode set to 'multiply' on the second track. Give it a try and let us know. Cin
