Overlaying text on image

Sorry for the basic question but what's the easiest way to overlay text on an image?

I currently have a text event (generated by right-clicking on a track and clicking on 'insert text media'), and, on another track, I have an image which I want as the background for the text. How do I overlay the text?

Put the text on the track above the track with your image - track above has priority. Make sure you create your text on a transparent background. You can then add motion fades etc to the text.
