Overwhelmed by all the rendering options

I am using Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.0 and need to render a promotional trailer in a specific format. I normally use .wmv but I cannot use this at this time.

The specs are as follows:
full HD progressive video H264 or avi or mpeg2 or .mov
size must be 1920x1080p, preferably 60 images per sec..

Now that is all not that hard but when I then try to render there are so many options which I don't even know what the differences are in the formats requested..I also can't find a H264 (I noticed when I adjust the template that at least in .mov I'll have a H.262 and H.263 to choose from).

Eitherway, I am totally confused as to which render settings to choose. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Rather starting with specs and trying to make them work, why not start with your destination and work backward from there?

How will you deliver this video? Will is be displayed online? On YouTube? On an iPod or iPad? On a BluRay disc?

There are so many possible configurations and compression levels -- but if you know what the needs of the particular medium is, the choices are much more obvious.

Steve, I don't know much else except the trailer will be shown on an LCD Screen during a conference and the specs we have to meet mentioned above.
So I assume they are playing the trailers from a machine, looped.

We have to upload the trailer to a ftp

Any number could do for the video you're playing on-screen. Might as well use the Sony AVC 1920x1080 60i 16 Mpbs.

The online video is trickier. But a good hi-def option would be Sony AVC Internet 1280x720 30p. But if that's too high-quality to stream well, try Quicktime 7 1 Mbps or even 512 Kbps. (You'll have to test them online and see which provides the best quality to playback ratio.)
