No Overwrite mode in Vegas and it is a pity.
I already asked for an overwrite mode, but it doesn’t seem to be an obviousness for everyone :

All serious editing software have an overwrite mode.

There is a script for this kindly provided by Gilles.

Not true - Vegas doesn't.

Seriously, you've made the point that you'd like the feature many times, no need to keep making exagerrated statements like the above. Please believe me, it's possible to have a complete editing career and die peacefully without ever needing overwrite mode.

Peter,
Talking about lack of a software isn’t exagerrated statements.
A French adage say “qui aime bien, chatie bien” (approximately: when you love it, you chastise it).
YES, we can work without overwrite mode... just like we could work without Ripple Edit (V4) or dragable cursor (V5)... we can also work with scissors and adhesive...

To Spot:
I’m Gilles, the author of this script ;))

Rosebud,

I agree that talking about features you want isn't exagerrating, but implying that Vegas isn't serious software because it doesn't have this feature IS.

Anyway, I hope you get what you want.

this is the power of a creative mind... you found a flaw and you fixed it with your own script :)
