Hi, I have just phoned Terratec, beacause of a 'crackeling' problem when recording from line-in analoge.
With my Terratec DMX 6fire 24/96 soundcard.
Teratec support said"Oh thats a known common problem with the DMX 6fire.
"Just enable the PCI Bus MASTERING on your bios.
I have even phoned my computer shop-support, but no one knows how to enable "PCI BUS MASTERING"
I dont see any "PCI BUS MASTERING"on my bios
Terratec said that it is always switched off.
Does any one know here??

My motherboard is - Asus P4B266.
Thanks for any help!.

Sounds to me more like a wording problem on their part. The answer to you probably should've been "enable DMA mode".
I checked out the FAQ on their web site and got this. Check out the very last sentence and you'll see what I mean. HTH.

Question 20:

The recorded Signal is distorted, what went wrong?

Answer 20:

In most cases you can solve this problem by changing the interrupt assigns for your hardware. Check in the "Device Manager" if there is another hardware component using the DMX 6fire interrupt (the DMX 6fire should have its own interrupt).
If you find such a problem, try to use either your BIOS to change the interrupt-slot combination or try to use the DMX 6fire in a different slot.
In addition, the DMA option of the HD-drive has to be activated within the device manager.

DMA Modes are enabled on all drives :-S.
So it must be something els I think..

First thing is to move your sound card in to another PCI slot, some s/c do not like being in slot three when a high end AGP card is used.
