Packaged or Downloaded???

What are the biggest differences? I already downloaded and installed it but would like the manufacturers CD. Are there any other differences? The downloaded one offers an additional CD with some extra features on it. Since I would pay for the shipping of this I might as well get the packaged. Does this come with the packaged option? Would I have to reinstal VF to get the extra features?

How do I get my keycode? I registered and haven't received my catalog with the key code. At one time the site was filling it in for me but now its not.... What do I get with the key code?

I bought the downloaded version for home and the packaged version for my church. In the long run, there really wasn't much difference at all. The content CD was kinda cool, but not really worth the extra shipping in my opinion. The packaged version came with a very slim manual, but i found it was easier to just play with the software than to look stuff up. Use the tutorial to get yourself going and you'll probably never need the manual either. As far as getting the official CD, i just downloaded all the files listed in the download page and burned my own CD.

So i guess my point is that there really isn't any big reason to get the packaged version, unless maybe you're buying it as a gift and want a nice box to wrap up. But then again, i think the packaged version came in a plain brown bubblebag. ACID Music and Sound Forge XP came in boxes though (which i did buy as gifts).

Key code? I haven't entered one for the last 6 or 7 things i've bought. I'm guessing that the only thing it's used for is to help Sonic Foundry trace which addresses they've mailed catalogs to that lead to purchases. It's certainly not necessary in the slightest for making the purchase, and they identify you by your eMail address rather than by the key code anyway.

You can download the manuals, too!

Here's the page:

I kind of see all of your points but since the downloaded isn't cheaper if I get this extra CD I should just buy the packaged version. I would really like all of the fancy manuals and boxes.... I think I might just buy the packaged version...

Any more comments on whether the extra CD is worth it??? If I don't get the extra CD I will save $8.00 for shipping.
