PAL DVD to NTSC coversion

Hi All

How can I convert a PAL DVD to NTSC I tried to do a Import -> DVD Camcorder disk and it fails Sony Vegas crashes. Any ideas I 'm very new to Sony Vegas so please explain any help in detail.

Is it a real camcorder disk?
If so what model camcorder?

Is it a PAL camcorder?

Are your project properties set to PAL?
