I have a corporate DVD video I'm trying to convert from PAL to NTSC for playback here in the States.
I've ripped the (non-commercial/non-copyright) DVD and created a PAL m2p stream. I then put it in the Vegas 4 timeline and then rendered as an NTSC m2p using the MainConcept NTSC DVD preset. The conversion looks fairly decent, but there are some artifacts, especially around graphics, creating jitter and flicker and bob. I assume that most of these have come from the 25 to 30 frame conversion, some may be from the mpeg re-compression.
Any tips out there for improving the video? I re-rendered using the Reduce Interlace Flicker checkbox in the clip properties, and it worked fairly well but I thought I'd see if anyone else who does this routinely has any proven method.
I also have Canopus Storm, Edius and Premiere 6 if those can be helpful.
Thanks.
Tom
