Is there any easy way to apply the pan and crop feature to 150 photos in Vegas? The way I am familiar with is to apply this feature to each individual photo. With 150 photos, I am wondering if there
's an easier way than to do this....?
If they all require the same pan/crop settings, just pan/crop the first photo, then right-click the first photo and select Copy (Crtl+C). Now right-click the second photo and select Select Events to End, then right-click the second photo again and select Paste Event Attributes. That's it. They will all be cropped the same.
...or if you're looking to apply a different pan/crop animation to a series of photos.. ala the burns effect... try a program like VAAST's Still Motion plug in for Vegas. Very flexible and easy.
I use Excalibur and it will definitely do exactly what you want. Highly recommended if you do lots of this sort of thing.
I believe that Ultimate S also does something similar, although I have not personally used it (although do not in any way take that as a negative; I just don't happen to have it).
Hello Vegas fans. . .
Cool tips on the copy paste of event attributes. . . it is also very handy. I use it often - except it is not very selective about zooming on a face and such. I do lots of stills to video and would like to peek at this excalibur software. . . it appears it will do selective zooming and panning automagically, yes? Anyone have a URL handy. . . my search for excalibur takes me to a casino . . . been there, done that, rather do video editing thankyouverymuch.

Additionally, is there a function in Vegas to do masking? Having a piece of video in the background show through only a section of the foreground video? I know I can fade the entire foreground to show the entire background. . . I'd like to be a little more selective than that with the background/foreground pieces of video.

Take a look at Vol 3 #1, Vol 3 #3, and Vol 2 #5 of my newsletters to get some ideas on masking.
Hello jet. . .
very nice articles. . . I'm interested in the network rendering - is there a client version of Vegas? It was mentioned in the article and confused me. . . of course, it doesn't take much to confuse me - I get lost looking up... <grin>

I also realized I've been a member of your own forum group since MAR 2006. . . so, now, I'm easily confused and forgetful as well. . . so, that combination means I often come across things I think I'm looking for, but forget why I needed it. . . jeez, it's always something!

Nice meeting you again for the first time. . . I'll spend a lot more time on your site this time around - also realized I'm in the RTP Vegas users group with Randall. Boy, do I need help! <lol>
The article was written when there was a client version. Now you just install the full version on each machine and the client can be accessed via Start - All Programs - Sony Vegas x.0 - Vegas x.0 Network Render Service
