Pan and Crop won't stick. Major headache!

I have been having problems with Pan/Crop. Whether I enter numbers, or use the spinner to set new numbers for the size of the frame (something other than 720 x 480), it will not stick. When I leave the place where I was entering the number it takes on a random number. And I do mean random. It seems to stick on THAT number, though, and I can't get rid of it. Any ideas on how to get it to work?

The X and Y centers seem to work properly. It is ONLY the width and hight that give me problems. It doesn't seem to matter whether the LOCK ASPECT RATIO is locked or not. It still gives me random numbers when I try to change width or hight.

if you have sync to cursor activated, you may be creating keyframes at specific areas you are not intending to. When creating these movements, click on your keyframe to make sure it sticks. I've done a ton with the new 3D tools over the past few days and a few times, thought I had adjusted a particular keyframe, when in fact I was a bit further down the timeline creating a new one.

Yes, I have encountered this problem at times but not consistently. See

Sorry I didn't mention it, but there were NO keyframe being created other than the initial one. I was careful to click on the button that sent the cursor to the far left of the clip before trying to change the size of the entire clip. There was to be only one size change, from beginning to end, but I could never get it to stick. There were never any other diamonds created anywhere along the keyframe timeline. I looked, as I thought that that might be the problem, but they never appeared.

I have tried to drag the edges of the pan/crop frame, but it is not nearly as precise as I would like. Still have not been able to solve this mystery.

SONY! Any ideas?

I presume you're hitting "Enter" after making numeric changes?

I am trying to zoom on a .png in V5. In V4 I select a position and drag one of the corners in and it automatically creates a keyframe but with V5 I have to hit the "+" icon...not a big deal except that it doesn't zoom; I can see the little box change positions accordingly when selecting different positions on the timeline but it's not zooming on my monitor(FWIW "sync cursor" is depressed). Any thoughts?
TIA,
Randy

FWIW, I just moved the clip slightly and the zoom took affect. Anyone else seen this behavior?

Hitting [Enter] as suggested doesn't seem to help. I still get a random number.

On pan and crop screen uncheck the button <enable snapping>.
Hope this helps....
