Pan Crop Question

dimipapa wrote on 3/9/2013, 4:11 AM
When I open media to pan crop is there anyway to get the keyframe to start from the zero position at the left rather than relative to where my cursor is currently on the timeline? I keep changing the pan crop of things and then realizing that it's somewhere in the middle and now I have to delete the first one at the zero position.

Make sure the keyframe "Sync Cursor" button is off (bottom leftmost button). That will allow the keyframe cursor and timeline cursor to operate independently.

Is there anyway to leave the button off but still have the preview window reflect you scrolling through the clip?

That's what the button is for so the answer is no.

Alas.. that's the way it worked in platinum 8,9,10. I guess I'm gonna have to bear the annoyance, I need that preview scrolling.

You should still see the effect in the preview window if scrolling on the TL.

It would really be nice if we could set a keyframe, tell Vegas that our adjustments are for that keyframe, and then move the cursor somewhere else so that we can preview the effect at some different location while still adjusting the chosen keyframe even when the cursor isn't there anymore.

Something like a "pause syncing" instead of turning sync off.

dimipapa, i'm pretty sure this behavior hasn't changed since sync cursor was introduced.

Also, it would be nice if the p/c keyframe controller retained focus when you adjust the pan/crop handles. This would let you quickly toggle between start and end of the motion via the Home/End keys as you adjust the p/c handles via mouse. As it is there are just too many clicks required which becomes annoying if it is a slideshow with 100 or more photos.

In the Pan/Crop window, if you move the scrubber to the very end it shows the first frame of the next event. Was this always the case in previous versions. I find it annoying.
