pan/crop question (w/o terminology)

Sorry to post such basic questions today, but I can't even find the correct terminology to search for my answer ...

I have an event which is a PNG image to be used as a graphic background to offset a title from the video. When I enter the "event pan/crop" window and try to move the graphic on the preview screen, I simply cannot get it to move to the lower-right where I want it. What does happen is that the graphic moves opposite to my mouse movement and will disappear if the selection marquee moves off the graphic.

How do I position the actual graphic ?
Possibly event pan/crop is not the tool to use for this?

I'm not entirely clear as to what you're trying to do, but it sounds as though "Track Motion" might better address your problem than pan/crop. Look up "track motion" in the Help Menu and in the Vegas documentation, where you'll find a complete description of how this works and which icon to click to activate it.

Hope this works for your need.
