Hi

I have been learning the Keyframe to do the paning, zooming and rotating the still pictures that I using vegas 5.0 to do the effect. So far I know how to use the keyframe to insert the first , next ... and the last keyframe, but result come out not smoothly as expected. Am I missing something, or is there any automation makes the effect move smoothly ?

Thank you very much for the help

In most cases you're better off letting Vegas do the intermediate frames with only setting first and last. This avoids the 'jerkyness' you may get. If you must like when panning a group photo row to row then be careful WHERE you insert the keyframes and don't be afraid to slow down or speed up, pause.

For an example:

www.bb-video.net

Click on Pan/Crop, then click on the second thumbnail, starting on page 4, I get into intermediate keyframing. Play the class photo pan vid. Watch the whole vid, watch how I slow down, then zoom in and pan up all in one smooth motion when going from the 1st to 2nd row, pause, pick up speed, and repeat going to the end of the row and so on. Vegas makes it easy and you can adjust the "smoothness" with the controls provided. It also helps to stretch out the main timeline. This is what determines to length of what you're panning.

It looks like a movie, its just one old still grainy class photo from the 50's.
