Pan/Zoom Smoothness

Forgive the novice question, but we're working on our first major project using Vegas, and are having trouble with pan and zoom moves starting out with an apparent jerk instead of a smooth ramp. The project involves mostly still images so these moves are pretty obvious. No problem with speed or duration otherwise, but we can't see a way to control those first few frames of the move. Is there some obvious solution we're missing? Thanks for any help.

Rightclick on the keyframes and several options appear. There is also a numeric smoothness control that needs to be adjusted on the left side of the effects screen.

Thank you for the right click info---I jumped the gun a bit and posted the question before searching the forum and happened across that option in an old thread. Very handy! In those earlier discussions there seems to be some disagreement about the function of the smoothness control, though. Someone mentioned that it should be set to 0 during rendering since the release of 7.0, which seems pretty counter-intuitive. What's the scoop with that?

The smoothness setting used to DEFAULT to 100%, and many people requested that this be changed to 0%, and Sony did this with version 7.0.

The 100% used to catch people out because it caused some pans starting near the frame edge to curve out beyond the frame, displaying unwanted black or background colour.

If the start/end curve is required now, the smoothness setting can still be set up to 100%, but this is now done manually rather than "defaultly".
