Panasonic 7503 question

Is there an issue with this drive at 8x write? Using CDA we
"sometimes" (seems to be increasing in frequency) get lots
of noise in written cdr's at 8x but if we drop back to 4x,
everything is ok.
Has anyone heard of problems with this drive - I'm starting
to think it might be a DAW/7503 problem and nothing to do
with CDA but comments would be welcome.

Hello.

Burning at high speeds such as 8X leaves a large margin for artifacts
on the CD. There are a few factors which go into this, the main ones
being the CD-Writer itself, and the media (CD's) you are burning
to...writing at 2x is the best speed for audio CD reliability.

I have an 8X burner at home, but I only burn at 2x myself because I
unfortunately do not have time to listen to every CD to make sure it
is perfect...

Thanks!
