What do you mean by "fully supports"? If the camera uses firewire and your computer has a capture card, why wouldn't it work? You simply capture the video into Vegas and you're on your way!
Well, I have to admit I'm a total newbie to all of this--have yet to buy any camera or editing system. (I've been away from amateur Super8 filmmaking for the past 25 years, and the possibilities inherent in DV are calling me back to the cinematic arts...)
From what I've seen in posts on various boards, it sounds like some NLE systems can have problems dealing with certain camcorders, for capturing and/or output to tape. And the only Panasonic camera that Sony specifically lists as being tested and supported is the DVX100 (which I have my eyes on for a future purchase, but I want a "little" camera for getting my feet wet and to use as a backup camera and DV deck). While I'm somewhat confident the camcorder should work fine in all respects with Vegas, I don't want to assume anything before I make my purchases.
Kevin,
I have a Panasonic GS70 which is last years version of the GS200 (they are almost exactly the same camera) and I can verify that it works great with Vegas. Capture works perfectly - Vegas can control the camera playback functions (rewind, play, etc) correctly.
Great camera the works great with Vegas.
