Panning

I'm a newbie user of Sony Vegas Movie Studio +DVD. I downloaded the trial version and just ordered the full product from chubbo.com. With that said, can someone tell me if there is a panning effect available? Such as the Ken Burns effect? I would like for a picture to pan while it's playing.

Yes there is and there is plenty of information on how to execute the pan and crop function in this forum. Enjoy!

One thing I just discovered was the ability to set a start and end position to an effect, just like in pan and crop.
I used the lens flare effect and defined a start and end position and got a great effect that moved the lens flare over the image so it looked that the sun was moving over the image.

You can do the same thing on text settings. For instance, you can have the shadow or tracking/scaling settings change over time... can add a dynamic element to otherwise static titling.

And if you think lens flare is cool on text, try light rays, especially with a different beginning and ending position and/or intensity.
