click FX on the right side of the photo (after it is on the timeline) and then use the pan/crop tab. there's a "show me how" for "how to pan, scale, crop video".

You will be using the "Begin" & "End" buttons for this process. You can have the pan/zoom move from a beginning position to an ending position. So if you want to zoom in, start at "Begin "showing the whole picture, then click "End" and crop to a small portion.

You'll be limited to a single movement per event. If you want to have multiple movements, such as zoom in, then pan to a different spot, then zoom back out, you'll have to Split the event each time you want the movement to change.

How can you remember the ending Pan point from clip to be the starting Pan point of the next clip?

I would like to split a clip in several places and perform different type of Pans on each sub-clip resulting in one complex Pan motion for the whole thing.

If you click on "Show properties", top left in the pan/crop window, it'll show you the numbers.

can't you just save your ending crop point and reuse it in the next event as the start point?

You can do that, but you need to generate a name for that record, and then in the next clip you use the drop down list in pan-crop for recalling that setup. The only problem is that only 12 names will show, and I know of no way of deleting old ones. I just go to the bottom one showing, click on it, and then do the drop down list again, repeating until I get to the one of interest. So this is a new QUESTION -- how can we delete old set-up names from the pan-crop drop down list (solution would hopefully work on other Fx drop down lists)

You can delete presets by clicking the "X" button just to the right of the "Floppy" save button.

You also don't need to save a separate preset for each split. You can save the next crop settings to the same preset as the previous one.
