I doubt anyone here knows the answer to your question.
Personally I suspect the answer is No as it's not mentioned in the feature list but who knows what will be in the final release of V11.

If you're really interested in a particle system then the two most popular are Particle Illusion which is a standalone system which many here use.
The next popular step up is Particular which runs in After Effects. More expensive, more complex and more capable than Particle Illusion.
There's also some "particle" FXs from the likes of GenArts that will run in V10 and no doubt V11 thanks to the support for OFX.
On top of that Vegas has always had a fractal noise generator which with some creativity can create "particles", it all depends on how photorealistic you want the effect, how complex you want it and if you can justify the money to buy the tool and the time to learn to use it, oh and the render times as well. From what I've seen the very high end tools that do very realistic smoke, fog and flames are major render hogs.
Be warned, particles are addictive :)

I've been thinking recently about switching from Pro 9 to Studio 11. For what I do (mostly home video stuff and a little other) looks like all the features I need are in the Studio version now.

And much cheaper too:

(I know this page doesn't compare v11 Pro, but this is what we know so far)

Read carefully. It's not an FX program, it's Movie Studio Platium with Hitfilm Standard FX included inside it. Here's Hitfilm.

Great deal imho, Hitfilm Standard itself is $150. So you could keep Pro 11 & just buy Hitfilm for $150. Or you could buy the FX Suite & give away Studio 11 to someone who's interested in Vegas, resell it, etc.

Thanks Bob, I was really looking for another answer and by default you answered it, it appears that Vegas Pro 10 and 11 do not have these effects, so it is a question of wether or not it is worth investing in Sony's product, or going with some aftermarket product.

I do small video editing jobs as a graphic designer it is part of my toolkit, so haveing that as a tool is all I need, not something full scale.

Sean, Pro 10 definitely doesn't have these FX.
We won't know if Pro 11 has them until it gets released, hopefully sometime next month.

I guess HitFilm could be one of the freebies that they give away, however I doubt they would offer HitFilm Pro which of course is a better match to Vegas Pro. Don't you think?

HitFilm Pro and PFhoe Pro make an interesting budget friendly effects suite. In case anyone is looking for one.

Also there are some BCC particle tools as well, so don't forget those, not to mention a host of 3D applications which have particle tools ( the cheapest and still quite good quality is blender ) if you're willing to take the time to learn.

Thanks everyone, will be keen to move to 11 when it releases though, either way.

I have many stability issues with Vegas 8 now, especially with my AVCHD footage, 8.1 seems fine, but I have limited plugin support in there.
