I have some work from a client that's on a dvd and I'd like to load it in for further editing. A while ago I remember someone showing me a pass through from a pd150 into final cut or some other software. can I do a pass through into vegas 5 or 6 so I don't need to record it to tape first? anyone tell me how?

thanks!

Sean

yes set your FX-1 to output DV from firewire
using the 3 RCA v/l/r to mini jack in from the DVD player and in the menu set to DV IN.

use capture util from V6 (stand alone) and make sure to set device control to off in the pref. section of the capture util.
then just start the DVD and click the record button.

remembering this from memory dont have my FX1 in front of me for a more accurate desc.

thank you. I brought out the tiny PC350 and got it to pass through for tonight. Forgot that I had to bypass sony capture to get the fx1 to work, so it sounds like as long as I'm bringing it in standard DV (not HDV) I should re-enable sony capture and make the selection to turn off device control it'll work.

Thanks much!
