Paste button intermittantly greyed out

I am cutting/pasting events from one video track to another in Vegas Video 4.0. I have markers on the source track, the output video track is selected. The output track is a blank track which just contains the events copied from the source. Double clicking between two markers selects that region on the source track. However, over 50% of the time the paste button is greyed out after I hit copy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Can anyone give me some suggestions? I also had the same problem with Vegas 3.0.

Hi Cap,

So I'm understanding properly, "source track" = Trimmer, "output track" = Timeline?

If so, highlighting a segment in the trimmer with loop selector tool does not require a copy action prior to pasting into the timeline ('A' key).

Captain: I think I've run into this myself in V3, where paste is greyed-out when I right click but I can go over to the drop-down menus and paste is enabled there. Control V for paste seems kind of iffy, sometimes too...
