just had to find another monitor as the old one retired itself.
Searched and tried some but had to return them because of the most surprising inadequate quality.

-One even was slightly light green (via DVI !!).
-Another still had the terrible LCD "glow" that was normal for LCD's many years ago.
-Another showed a quite different picture if I moved my head only 10 centimetres (its data said 178 degrees)
-And one had to warm up 5-10 minutes before the picture was stable
(I did not try a Dell however)

Ended up with an Eizo SX2761w (27 inch) which here did cost over 1.600 US - but it has a picture quality far, far better as the others.

Conclusion: do not compromize with the screen you are going to work with- and watch many hours every day.
