PD 170 question

Im living in PAL land Sweden and can get a used PD 170
for a good price.
Its a NTSC model
2 (perhaps silly) questions
Is there a switch on the cam for NTSC or PAL?
Will I loose much quality if I render NTSC to PAL in Vegas?

I have also considered to buy a new Canon XM2 but cannot see
anything about this cam on this forum - how come?

((NO))

((Why bother?? i mean NTSC is already lower in resolution and colour space than pal, u cant fill in whats not there (to a point... were talking vegas here so its conversion tools ARE good.. but why use them if u dont have to?? )
Sure u can render out, but dude, if ur in PAL land, stick with Pal..
Your renders will be faster and youll be far more pleased with the results...

trust me, save ur cash for a little longer and find a local unit... youd be better off in the end..

Also be aware of one other problemo, one that I've had happen to me. Shoot 50i where the lighting is 60Hz and vice versa and flicker can be a BIG problem with any form of discharge lighting, they didn't choose two different numbers just to be difficult.
You can work around it by using the right shutter speed but why give yourself another things to worry about.
