Peaks Not Available

Archived .avi file now appears not to have an audio track.
Any ideas on what has happened here?

Hold the phone.
The audio IS there,---just no wave form.
But why?

Never mind.
Opened project a second time, and low and behold, PEAKS!
What a quirky program this Vegas have evolved to.
Should have purchased a Mac and FCP when I got into this game five years ago.

Then you wouldn't have had this fantastic forum to answer the hundreds of questions you've posted. Believe me, everything has it's own quirky issues!

You are right, you know.
If I didn't love Vegas I wouldn't have been using it since version 2.
Just venting in a moment of frustration,
FCP has it's issues too, as do all the other NLEs.
