Well, nothing like a challenge!

Having seen what is possible in Premiere - and I presume this holds for VV, I've created a "Pencil Draw" effect. It produces flat white and black with edges of wine glasses really becoming black against a white background. Anybody want the settings? It is not just Contrast!
