Hi,
I have a Athlon 1.0 GHz Tunderbird, 512M RAM, and an ATA 100 7200 RPM disk drive running Windows 2000 Pro. I have been working with VV 3.0 for a couple of weeks and I ran into a problem when playing back a song. The song consists on 16 tracks with each track being 16 bit mono pcm wave data. Vegas is unable to properly play this song back at all with out major gaps in the audio every 1/2 to 2 seconds. Playback starts out OK but 3 - 5 seconds into it, Vegas can't keep up. I would like to add that I am running NO FX on ANY track.
I have other songs with the same ammount of tracks/wave type and I am able to play these just fine even when I am using compressors and EQ on all the channels.
To further compund my already baffeled mind, I copied the audio files to a seperate directory and imported them into Cubease 5 Vst 32 and was able to play the song with no problems.
I have my Buffer set to a full 1 Second in the preferences, which is another point I have, why can't I buffer more audio?
I am sure some of you will suggest more RAM and possibly to add a different hard dirve for the OS but I can't see how this would matter since other tunes play just fine with the same ammount of tracks.
--confused.
