Phillips DVD editing in Vegas 3.0c

I do work for a school that was given a Phillips DVD recorder. They have a very nice camera that output only S-Video into the Recorder with a wireless receiver for the Audio so all things said the quality of the DVD is not to bad. They want me to trim the beginning and end, then combine the 2 (~1 hour lectures) on to one DVD. The Phillips is a .VOB extension so I renamed it to .MPG and loaded into Vegas but there no audio track. Any ideas?

Same problem here! some vob files I read and everything comes in fine Audio & Video. Other times no audio, Don't know what the difference is as both play ok in DVD player. We are checking to see if it has to do with dolby(tm) 5.1 encoding vs. mpeg audio....

If all else fails, you can try converting it to an AVI file with DVD2AVI. This is freeware you can download from:

I've used it successfully with good results. If there's an image quality reduction, it ain't much.
