Jazzvalve,
Not sure I understand the question. You can load video clips onto the timeline using the Photomontage module of Ultimate S. You probably don't want to use the pan/crop functions on a video clip and maybe not some of the others like match aspect ratio or reduce flicker but others should work. Check the tutorial on the VASST site to be sure. Also, you can put your cursor where you want the slide show to start in a video production and run the Photo Montage tool and it will place the almost completely built slide show on your timeline at the place you want it to start. This is really cool. Once you get the show how you like it, use Vegas to render it to the format you need (.avi, MPEG-2, Windows Media Play 10, etc.) for the type of display you want (tape, DVD, web, etc.). Hope this helps.

Jazzvalve (I hope that name doesn't imply what I think it does? Did you ever get in trouble in music class for emptying on someone's foot?)

What you might be seeing if you are having troubles with using PhotoMontage for placing video on the timeline instead of stills, is that you likely have Adjust Duration set and no markers on the timeline. If so, you'll get an object error and then it will load the files to the timeline. Uncheck the Adjust duration, or be sure to have markers on the timeline.
If you think you can't import video because it doesn't show video, simply choose the All Files in the Explorer dialog instead of viewing just the supported types. You'll see your vid files then.
