PHOTO UPDATE PROBLEM

ScheffFrog wrote on 9/2/2009, 2:52 PM
In previous versions of Vegas Pro if I went to my photo edit program to doctor a photo that was in the time-line, when I returned to Vegas the time-line Photo was automatically updated without me having to go through the REPLACE feature. That doesn't happen any more in Vegas Pro 9.0(b). Is there a reason for this nice little feature having been removed? Is there a way to turn it on? I have found anything in Preferences that would change it.

Anyone else notice this?

I just tried it with Pro 9.0b and Photoshop and it worked for me.
Sorry :-(

Frogger777? AFAIK, there isn't a VegasPro feature for this? Is there? There IS a 3rd Party script that will do this for me, and I just checked again and it does work, even in PsP. The "new" graphic comes back as a Take2.

Are you sure this is a feature of Vegas, if not, have you not got the Script now? It was one of "Rosebud".

If there is/was a Vegas version of this, that's news to me, I mean it!

Grazie

For me Vegas has always done this - it doesn't open PSPro from within Vegas, as you can with Audio editing, but if I change a still in PSP the change is immediately visible in Vegas - just tried in in V9 and it's still there.

Ah! Thanks Peter. It was the openning in PsP from within Vegas that I thought wasn't a "known" feature. Having been using the script, I don't even have to fire PsP up, the script does it for me and then returns a Take2.

I'm spoilt using that script.

Thank YOU Grazie - I remember reading about that script, but never got round to downloading, but it would be very useful .... I just had a Search for Rosebud posts on the subject without luck - do you perchance have a link?

Cheers

Thankyou Grazie - my boots are well full!

Sorry - next problem after unpacking the .zip, Gilles' txt file says first run "Open in Graphic Editor Script setting" to set the graphic editor path - this file seems to be a .dll, which doesn't open on its own.

Is there something obvious I'm missing?

Cheers ...

I placed ALL the dlls and graphic in the C:\ . . . . Sony\ . . \Script Menu folder. Did a Rescan of the Folder, and .. .

1] You use the "Open in Graphic Editor Script setting" only once. This does what it says - yeah?

2] Then use the "Open in Graphic Editor" script itself.

"I was trying to do it outside Vegas." - Don't you know that "Whatever happens in Vegas . . . ". Don't you just love that Paint-Pot Icon?!?? And yes, Gilles heard us and responded. Like JR and Edward and and and . .

Go to Options/Preferences. In the Video tab proof the status of "Close media files if not the active application".

It seems like you eventually unchecked this one. Turn it on again and the update feature should work like it did before.
