Photoshop 7, Vegas 8c and Vista 64

I'm debating between getting a new Vista 64-bit computer versus another XP Pro box, and I have one question regarding Photoshop PSD files...

Knowing that Vista 64 does not support Photoshop 7, will Vegas 8c still import PSD, PNG and JPG files from a 32-bit Photoshop?

I apologize if it seems to be a dumb question, but I didn't find anything in the searches.

Thanks!
James

I'm using Photoshop 7 on Vista Ultimate 64 just fine - where'd you get the idea it wasn't supported??? I use it all the time in conjunction with Vegas Pro 8.0c - no issues whatsoever.

Thanks, Cliff! You just saved me a ton of worry!

What happened was, while I was getting quotes for new machine to replace my XP (the mobo on it fried), a computer salesperson told me in an e-mail that most 32-bit programs, including Photoshop 7, would not work in a 64-bit OS. This, coming from a computer salesperson who doesn't have much video production experience.

You just made my decision a lot easier! Thank you!

I also use CS2 on Vista 64 bit. The only thing I have that won't run on this PC is After Effects 7. But some others were able to get it running, just not working for me.

More good anecdotal data for you: despite a raft of ominous warnings from my Vista 64 bit ultimate, I installed Photoshop Elements 4. Yes, version 4. It installed and works like a charm. Thought I would have to buy version 7 to run it on Vista, but I thought I'd give v4 a try, and it worked. I realize you may not be using Elements, but the point is that I got a simple, outdated, 32 bit proggie to work just fine in a Vista 64 bit environment.

Photoshop 4 Elements is at least able to save files on a disk that has more free capacity than 1TByte. Than is NOT true for Photoshop 7... ;)
