It looks like in C) you are doing two separate steps: render the zoom to a new file, then using this new file for the rotate. This is probably unnecessary as you can do the zoom and rotate in a single step using the original image.

When working with non-standard media for Pan/Crop i find it very helpful to first right-mouse-button click inside the cropping frame and choose "match output aspect". After that, no matter what you do with Pan/Crop the cropping will be done to match the shape of the output frame rather than limiting it to match the original image's shape.

Is that background changing done in the Project Properties, in the Video Tab, where it has a field for height and width - or do I need to set the background to those parameters in Microsoft Word before I even put the Word Art on top of it and then import it into Vegas? Well, it's a whole lot easier if you do it first thing before creating the subsequent keyframes since each new keyframe starts out inheriting the settings from the one before it. But if you've already got a bunch then sadly you're going to have to do every one individually.

The only way I know how to do it is in the program before you import it. In your case you would have to make your background and graphics in Word Art at the size of your project, and then it should work fine. Let us know. Cin

Your feedback helped - to a point. Before embarking on another try, I made sure that the dimensions of my graphic file matched my project dimensions. After that, here's a synopsis of my now current dilemma - apologies for the length on this:


1)The zoom towards the camera was fine - I did it separate from the rotation because it takes more keyframes (later I'd time-stretch the zoom to fit the length of the rotation before I keyframe the rotation);
2)As I was going through and setting up my rotation, I right-clicked inside the Pan/Crop Window, and chose, "Match Output Aspect" as you stated. Also, I made sure that the dimensions of the graphic file (with the green background) matched the project dimensions before I started (being 636x452). Again, everything was fine on the zoom, and same in regards to the rotation - UNTIL I got halfway through keyframing it and then letters again were getting cut off.
3)I went back a couple times, right-clicking inside the pan/crop window and choosing, "Match Source Aspect" as well as manually moving the borders of the pan/crop window with the mouse before keyframing - no luck, as letters were still getting cut off halfway through the rotation.
4)I also tried changing the dimensions - since the graphic basically has a "camera" flying towards one of the letters, as the graphic zooms forward and rotates at the same time, I figured a deep zoom like that would need a much bigger dimension, so I tried changing the dimensions to 2544x1808. Vegas would only let me go up to 1920x1080. That didn't work. Also, black bars started showing up on the edges of the frame and the letters got stretched out pretty far. I also had a videocamera connected to my computer as an external monitor source the whole time so I could get a sense of how it would look rendered.

What else do I need to do to get this to work? Could I send you a clip of what I'm trying to do to help elaborate more and to show the problem? The clip is about 9-10 seconds long. At this point, I may just go to Kinko's, (tomorrow, as I'm about to hit the sack), print out the graphic so that it will look printed exactly the way it looks on screen, and then shoot it with my camera, and import it, then edit it, as that might work better. Let me know. Apologies for rambling - I'm just trying to get this done. Thanks.

Maybe you can try rotating the image using the Track Motion feature (small double box next the Track Name field).

I personally don't use Pan/Crop any more to do major event rotations unless it's to straighten them out.
