picture duration

Is there a way in Vegas 8 to change the default length of a picture from 5 seconds to something else. I'm creating a file of numerouse pictures with cross fades and it's taking a long time because I have to resize the time of each picture before doing the cross fades manually.

in the options there's a setting to change the default.

there's some scripts that can do this too. I know Excalibur (I own) can do it, so can Ultimate S. Both cost $$ but are worth every penny.

Options - Prefs - Editing - New still image length (seconds).

The average duration of stills in a slideshow will vary from 4 sec minimum to 7 sec maximum, depending on narration. Anything much shorter or longer than that can begin to get uncomfortable for uninitiated viewers.
