I'm not at a computer with VMS installed right now, but somewhere in the track motion window there must be an icon that constrains movement in the X and Y directions. Look along the top edge of the track motion window? Sorry, I can't recall it clearly.

A similar icon appears in the pan/crop window at the lower left. This one icon steps through options of allowing only X movement, only Y movement, or both X and Y movement.

For some reason, I'm thinking there might be two separate buttons for track motion -- one for X and one for Y?

Sorry to be so vague...

Yes, there are two separate buttons and they're on the top edge of the window. The look like little padlocks with "X" and "Y" next to them.

If you look underneath the Preset bar at the top of the 'Track Motion-Video Overlay' window you should see 9 icons. The 4th and 5th ones over from the left allow you to lock, or unlock movement along the X and Y axis. Give it a try and let us know. Best. Cin

Thanks a lot for your help.... The Track Motion Window X & Y controls are different from the "Pan & Crop" X & Y controls and confused me. (and believe me, it doesn't take much to confuse me...)

Thanks again to everyone!...
