Picture size for DVD/BluRay

I'm making an end of the year DVD/BluRay for a local sports team. Of course I have a ton of media from everyone! Many of the pictures are less than 1000kb. Does anyone know what is a good minimum size to use so that it will still retain good quality on a TV? I was going to burn it as both DVD and BluRay for those that have different players, but not sure if that makes a difference in deciding the minimum size. Thanks as always. Cin

It is good if your pics are at least the resolution of your video. If you are not doing any moves or zooms, 1920 x 1080 for HD Bluray is good. If you are planning on doing like a slideshow with moves, I always try twice the resolution of the project.

Thank you David for taking the time to help. That makes perfect sense now. I was just looking at the 'size' of the picture before, but now I will just look at the 'dimension' and see that it is at least the size of my project. Thanks again. Cin
