Picture snapshot from m2ts video

Hello,

I met a problem with VMS 10 HD.
I shot several video my camera (Panasonic SD20), which are in HD format (.m2ts).
I wish to capture a snapshot from some video frames, so I used the snapshot capture button in the video preview.
The picture shows a strong "interlaced" pattern, one line is ok, one line is not.
I captured the same frame with another NLE and everything is ok, the picture quality is good.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks for the answers

Match your Project to your Media. Search "match media settings" if unsure how to do this.

Set your Preview to Best/Full.

If there is still interlacing, go back to Project Properties, temporarily choose "Progressive" and "Interpolate."

That should do it.

Hi,

thanks for the prompt answer.
The properties are matched.
I will check with the interlaced/progressive video setting.
My video are taken in interlaced mode.
Is this the best way to shoot (considering that the video is then played from the web) ?

For web delivery, by far the best current format is 1280x720 progressive, for many reasons.

If you are interested in converting 1080i for 720p web delivery, here is an excellent place to start:

If there is still interlacing, go back to Project Properties, temporarily choose "Progressive" and "Interpolate."

I find that doing so softens the image too much. I prefer to save the images with the interlacing artifacts then apply the Video filter in Photoshop Elements. To me, it produces a crisper image.
