Picture Vanishes When I Move/Pan It?

KRyan wrote on 9/19/2015, 3:21 PM
I'm sure this is an easy one, but I can't figure it out:-P. I'm making a talking head video and mentioning a product. I want a picture of that product to appear over my left shoulder - in the top right quadrant of the video. But when I try to use Pan/Cropping to try and move the picture to the right, it seems to have a much smaller frame than the video, and it just disappears before I can get it moved.

It seems like the canvas of the picture represents a boundary beyond which I cannot move the picture before it seems to slide under that boundary.

How can I place a picture freely onto any part of the video?

Thanks!

Ken

Try this,

before you try to reposition or resize, RIGHT CLICK on the image and select
MATCH OUTPUT ASPECT.

Thanks Donald. I'm not seeing that as an option. I'm using Vegas Pro 13. I tried right clicking after it's on the track and also before, when it's in the clip bin. But in neither case do I see MATCH OUTPUT ASPECT as an option. Is it under a menu somewhere?

Thanks for that quick reply, BTW:)!

HOWEVER....:-).

I selected a Preset in Pan/Crop called 16:9 Widescreen TV aspect ratio, and THAT did the trick.

Thanks so much!!!

I may not have been clear. Right click on the image in the PAN/Crop window.

Try using Track Motion rather than Pan Crop.
