Pinnacle 6

When I was just a video baby, I captured some video with Studio (really forgot which version) but the avi file plays in media player and is an avi file that was captured in VHS tape resolution (I Guess) the resolution is 608x464. Now I need to print these items to tape and Vegas 4 will not reconize them. When I drag them from the explorer to the timeline only the audio gets dropped. The video is lost. I even tried to create a new project using this strange resolution and the video still wont go to the timeline-just the audio. Is there a utility to 'fix' these avi files or make them that V4 can read them? They are several years old and can't be recaptured.

Try to figure out the codec used by using a tool like AVIcodec:

Studio 6 with DC10+ uses MJPEG avi for captures. It is a hardware codec so the board and the software need to be installed for Vegas or other applications to recognize it.

In the alternative, you can download the PicVideo or Morgan MJPEG software codecs which will allow Vegas to open your Studio captures. Both of these trial versions are watermarked, so you have to purchase one of them to use unencumbered.
