PIP and Borders

I'm doing picture in picture by placing different stills on seperate tracks and have noticed if I try to add a Sony Border like a soft blur
the border is applied to the entire event, not the resized picture.
[ Resized with pan/crop. ] Does not seem to matter whether you apply the border before or after the resizing and re positioning.
Is there another way of doing this or is this where you need a fancy
PIP plugin?

Two things for you to try.
#1 is to use Track Motion to add a shadow or glow. You'd need to keyframe it if you wanted to change anything.
#2 is to use something like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro to add the effect to the picture and then bring it into Vegas.

To the left of the Border FX keyframe timeline is a triangle.

Clicking this repeatedly toggles between pre and post - this should allow you to apply border to the reduced image.
