Pixilated capture screen

When I down load a video tape from camera to software the video capture screen is very pixilated. Also when a burn the movie to a CD the playback on the CD is also pixilated. Why?

May need some more info to answer any questions:

What version of Vegas?
What is the camera you use?
Computer specs?
SD or HD ?

Are you burning to a CD or DVD. What software do you use to burn with?

Just a couple of questions to get an idea of what you have going on.

Using Vegas Platinum 6.0
Sony DCR-HC36
Dell Pent 4 CPU 3.2 Ghz 1gb Ram
Burning to DVD use Vegas to burn

I'm sorry, but I am not too familiar with the Movie Studio version of Vegas. This is the Vegas Pro forum.
