I'm not familiar with the software/effect to which you refer, but usually a big "X" indicates that the software hasn't been properly activated, or that it's a demo which can't be used for production until a registration key has been entered.

Either of these a possibility?

That's exactly what is happening, it is still in the demo mode.
to enter your serial number (if you have one) just place a
Pixelan Video FX into your timeline (video clip) and the "Video Event FX"
box opens up. Next, click on the Pixelan graphic and another box will
open up and there you can type in your serial number.

Hope this helps.

Ok i will give it a try. I hope it is the vegas serial number that i need or it maybe just a demo that i have to purchase to be used. Anyway I thank you both.

It's NOT the Vegas serial number. It is a unique number that gets emailed
to you from Pixelan once you have purchased the product online.

Ok youknow by now youhave a demo and cant render pixlan effects without purchasing the software. One way to accomplish what you are trying is to copy your clip just the video portion and place it above the existing clip and frame ahead . This creates nice ghosting
