Platinum Update Size - Why so large?

I just purchased the Platinum Pro pack and notice that there are some updates.

I went to download the appropriate updates and noticed that the one for VMS9P is 102.5 mg! This is the same size as the full product download.

Is this an error? Are we supposed to uninstall the product and download what seems to be an entirely complete program?

I don't want to garble my new computer up with a bunch of extraneous junk.

In order to avoid partial update causing unpredictable errors Sony always sends out the full package as an update.

You should not uninstall the old version before the update.

The new files just replaces the old ones on your PC.
