"Play All" and rendering to one BIG file? How?

q2klepto wrote on 9/9/2003, 1:05 AM
ive read a recent thread about having a play all button having its set in pointer to the beginning and the set out to the end to one big file consisting of ALL the movies appended to each other.

and then having chapter selection point to different parts of that big file..makes sense

but ive already pre-rendered my movies to DVD NTSC 3500kbps 720x480 w/ 128bit wav sound using TMPGENC

trying to join all these movies into one big one with TMPGENC doesnt work since i think it only does SVCD mpeg1 at its best when joining (altho it can encode using DVD NTSC *shrug*) and when i do try and join them..the audio is not synced correctly

is there an easy way where i can have a set out pointer point to the next movie instead of automatically going back to the root menu?? man ive been using DVDA for only a few days and im already hitting its limitations

do i have to render my avis (consisting of divx/xvid) all over again using DVDA?

one problem is that one of my movies is an mp4, and i had to convert that to mpeg2 using tmpgenc (virtualdub wouldnt touch it)

do i have to rerender this again? i dont think DVDA lets me pick the bitrate i want

any suggestions?

thanks

I think you're out of luck on this one since DVDA does not allow for "end actions". You might try downloading Ulead moive factory (last time I checked they have a 30 day trial period full feature) which does allow for end actions...

best regards,

Paul.

Just to add to his, I posted the "how to" (basics) for the flexible structure dvd in this thread:

I have used Ulead and it is very flexible. It allows you to designate for each clip what action is to be taken once the clip is played. You can move on to the next one (a play all) or return to the menu.

I was shocked to see that DVD Architect didn't have this functionality given the amount of money I paid for it.

This is a glaring weakness for those of us who use other software or hardware encoders. I hope Sonic Foundry will correct this situation in their next release or more customers will move to other platforms.

Does ULead allow you to change the bitrate to make events fit onto a DVD? i can't find that it does in my version of Movie Factory.
